Cal star Randle goes undrafted

Former California Golden Bears standout and 2009-2010 Pac-10 Player of the Year Jerome Randle was disappointed on Thursday night, as he wasn’t selected in the 2010 NBA Draft. Randle was a borderline selection, his collegiate accomplishments ultimately unable to overcome his physical measurables.

Randle averaged over 18 points per game during his final season at Cal, leading the Golden Bears to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. Ultra-quick with an excellent shooting stroke, Randle made over 40 percent of his 3-point attempts and 93 percent of his free throws.  (Read More…)

Best could start for Lions

Former California Golden Bears running back Jahvid Best is really impressing coaches with the Detroit Lions.

The Lions traded up into the late first round to make sure that they would be able to draft Best. He was one of the best at his position in college and one of the first running backs to come off the board.

The Lions really love his home run ability, because he can break one loose for a touchdown on almost any play.

It also helps that last year’s starter, Kevin Smith, is still trying to recover from serious knee surgery.
